JBoss EAP 6.3 Beta is available for download. This release brings continued progress on the road to making EAP the most manageable and secure Jave EE Application Server for traditional and cloud based workloads.
For current customers with active subscriptions, the Beta can be downloaded from the customer support portal and support tickets can be logged on the Beta.

For community users developing applications that will be deployed on a supported EAP, the Beta can be downloaded from jboss.org under development T&Cs, and questions can be posed to the EAP Forum.

PicketLink Enhancements
Major revision of the PicketLink component of JBoss EAP that brings:
- CDI injection of security configurations
- Management subsystems for IDP and Federation
- Certificate based login with IDP
- Kerberos based authorization with IDP
- IDP indicated SSO capability
- Dynamic Account Chooser at a Service Provider
WebSockets Support
WebSockets provides a bidirectional, full-duplex communication protocol for the development of real time, rich client and mobile applications. APIs are provided for both client and server sides. This features requires a Java 7 runtime.
Domain Recovery Improvements
JBoss EAP 6.3 host controllers can now be configured with a backup IP address for a JBoss EAP domain controller. This capability enables administrators to configure automatic failover of host controllers to a backup domain controller, ensuring the availability of the management domain.
Support for PKCS11 Keystores
JBoss EAP security domains and the JMS subsystem (HornetQ) have been enhanced to support authentication with PKCS11 keystores in addition to the Java Keystore supported in earlier versions.
Patching in Graphical Console
The patching feature introduced in JBoss EAP 6.2 and exposed through the management APIs in JBoss EAP 6.2, is available in the management console in JBoss EAP 6.3. The capability to install and roll-back patches, as well as view patch state and patch history are available.
New 'Home Page' in Management Console
The JBoss EAP management console now starts with a home page that provides links to the most common administrative functions, easing and speeding navigation through the console.
